Analysing Camera Techniques

Death in Paradise Analysis

First Scene

Establishing shot of a group of people playing volleyball, this is done by using a tracking shot that goes up close to the player's faces to show emotion and further develop the scene. As the audience (and someone who hasn't seen an episode yet) can tell that this is taking place somewhere tropical and hot due to the high key lighting of the sun as well as the women not wearing a lot of clothing which can also represent the women as sexual objects who would probably be classed as bitches or femme fatales.

The camera angles then, all of a sudden, become quick and fast paced which could lead on to the fact that the show may have some fast paced, heart raising.
This scene is another establishing shot of the office in which the main characters work. this shot features two main characters which later have a conversation which uses more camera shots.
