X-Factor Contestants

The audition encourages the audience to focus on to Lucy Spraggan, a relatable girl who immediately gets the audience and judges laughing. She breaks the norm of people having a sob story by saying she's just an average woman who has a boring job which also gets the audience to like her more was they can relate very well.

The cameraman is constantly changing between views of the audience laughing at her funny, relatable song and to the judges who look interested and surprised by her talent which could be completely staged.

Once the song is over, the cameraman then goes to show Lucy Spraggan crying over how well the audience received her song, this creates a sense of emotion to the audience and immediately create a bond to her and hope she wins.

At the beginning of the video, before she gets onto the stage, she says directly to the camera that she is nervous of how she thinks the audience will take her. This is a direct connection between her and the audience at home where she basically says "I'm nervous!" which creates a sense of empathy between her and the audience at home even before she begins to sing so the audience will like they have a connection already.
